Blown Away Blow Dry Bar

While I loved going to Blown Away in the past for makeup and special occasion updos, I got a blow out there for the first time at the beginning of the month and was pretty disappointed. I have lots of fine curly hair and asked for a style with some body and wave, and the first thing my stylist did was drag a paddle brush through my curls. The blowout ended looking like my hair was straightened with just a slight curl on the end, and it was really flat (I don’t usually have a problem with body.) I ended up having to go home before my event to do damage control. I asked for no oil-based products and they put Moroccan oil spray in my hair which made my hair look really stringy. Luckily they didn’t put any hairspray in my hair after the blowout so it was easier to fix when I got home. The positive I will say is that my hair was really soft from the deep condition, and I still liked the atmosphere of the place. I would probably go again for the other services, because those were so good in the past, but I will not be going back for a blowout.

I had a huge industry event where I was giving a speech and we were taking board pictures for the next year. I wanted a professional look. Could not have been happier with Joshua's work. He listened and talked me through what he was doing. I was in around 3pm and my make up held on beautifully through Midnight. My look gave me confidence throughout the whole evening. Adam is the best! He listens and then creates. He has so many wonderful and creative ideas. Personal yet professional. I have difficult, frizzy, baby fine yet thick hair and most stylist don't have his skills to create a smooth, yet full and bouncy style. I always feel better and more confident after he has created his magic. Much love and respect sent his way!

I need to give the BIGGEST shoutout to this establishment’s ownership and stylists! My ding dong sister scheduled her appointment for the wrong day. JJ (the owner) was cool, calm, collected, and SO solution oriented. She made us feel like we weren’t the world’s biggest idiots, made us feel right at home, and provided top class service. Now, don’t even get me started on Chevan. The BEST blowout I’ve ever had. She gave me a great wash, great company, and killer curls. My hair lasted for days. This dynamic duo deserves your business. Next time you’re in need of a blowout in STL, this is your place!!!!
